Picture of students working in the garden

7th and 8th grade students spent August clearing out the garden and grove.  CRIT Farms came and plowed under our garden and formed new beds for us to plant in.  Monday we tried to level our beds and fertilized the soil.  Tuesday we will lay irrigation lines and prong our mulch bags and hopefully on Friday 10/1 we will be able to plant lettuce, kale, cabbage, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower.  Thanks to Don Alamban from U of A for his expert help, and to our 7th and 8th grade students for their hard work.  Also, Jaime Nevarez and Joe Hermes for their help mowing and irrigating our grove, and of course CRIT Farms.

We should have some pomegranates for sale in early November and then grapefruit, oranges and of course our lemons in early December.  All the money goes back to our junior high in the form of gift cards for things like good behavior in class.
