Hi! My name is Mrs. Beneke. I’m originally from Minnesota (Go Vikings! Go Twins!), but I’ve lived in Arizona now for 25 years so I guess it’s time to call Parker home. I started my teaching career here 1992 in 6th grade over at Wallace. I also taught 4th grade at WES before I moved over to Blake where I taught 2nd grade and then 3rd grade. I made the move to Blake after taking a CLIP class and decided I wanted to try those new reading skills out on younger children. Then came the big jump out to the valley – LePera! I taught First Grade ELL for one year before becoming the First and Second Grade Reading Interventionist. Let me tell you, I love teaching reading. Seeing that “light bulb” come on, when a student finally realizes what reading’s all about and how enjoyable reading is, is just delightful for me!
Besides reading, I also enjoy my music. Whether it’s playing my accordion or just singing, music is very important in my life. So is my family. Our 4 kids have all flown the nest so it’s just Bob and me, but that’s ok. I can handle a little quiet time at this point in my life!
